Healing Intensive

Private coaching for people who are ashamed of their finances —

and are ready to do money differently.

Rachel Duncan, MA

Certified Financial Therapist™ + Art Therapist

You’ve probably heard “just make a budget” a hundred times, but if it were that simple, you wouldn’t be here.

This isn’t about spreadsheets or willpower. In this 3-month 1:1 intensive, we’ll rebuild your relationship with money from the inside out using a unique blend of Internal Family Systems, art therapy, and financial therapy.

This work is deep, emotional, and sometimes messy.

It’s time for an expert guide who’ll never wince.

I knew deep down I couldn’t quite figure out this whole money thing on my own. Rachel’s soft & welcoming presence is like the care I always wanted from my parents — you can feel she genuinely cares. I felt so safe in our 1-1 chats & in this community."

Let me know if one of these sound familiar…

You blacked out in the candle aisle again. The packages keep arriving at the door. The dopamine high from buying stuff is REAL — until the dread kicks in.

Your impulse spending feels like a dirty secret you can’t confess, even to your therapist.

You’ve tried to “get it together” so. many. times. Downloaded apps, bought spreadsheets, challenged yourself to a “No Spend Month”… but nothing survives longer than a week.

Maybe you inherited money and feel frozen — like you should know what to do with it, but don’t. And you’re ashamed to even say that out loud.

Your partner, parent, or friend has gently (or not-so-gently) called you in on your spending habits.

You know how to earn… but what comes after the paycheck feels like a blur.

And the debt? It looms. Student loans, credit cards, maybe a car loan. It sits on you like a heavy, invisible backpack you carry everywhere.

And maybe most of all, you’re exhausted from doing this alone, like trying to read a map in the dark, with shame breathing down your neck.

You can still be you.

You can be good with money and not “stick to a budget”

You can be someone who buys fun things and someone who pays off debt.

You can be someone who inherited wealth and someone who can be okay about it.

You can be worried about money and learn to feel steady with it.

You are worthy of support — and it’s okay to get help.

Financial education that gets to the root of your money avoidance

This private financial coaching intensive is where you and I slow the money chaos way down. We’ll look at the real stuff underneath your stress — the stories, the patterns, the “ugh, why am I like this?” moments — and rebuild your relationship with money. In a way that feels steady, supportive, and actually sustainable.

I am a Certified Financial Therapist TM and Art Therapist. My approach to money healing is trauma-informed, Internal Family Systems-inspired, and built with neurodivergent brains in mind. That means flexible structure, visual tools, and zero shame.

I also take social context seriously, because your money habits aren’t just about willpower or spreadsheets. Together, we’ll build you tools that work — but the real magic is in healing the money wounds underneath.

I’ve helped hundreds of people not only get better with money, but feel whole.

“When I began working with Rachel, I was at a rock-bottom financially, I felt hopeless. She made me feel so seen and supported me every step of the way. I wouldn’t have been able to heal my relationship with money without her, I am so so thankful for her.”

The Coaching Journey: From Shame to Self-Trust

This is an intensive that honors both your nervous system and the numbers. We’ll move between emotional depth and practical tools in a rhythm that’s bespoke to you.

Because money healing is never linear, and it's never ever one-size-fits-all.

  • We begin by gently unpacking your lived experiences with money — not just the numbers, but the feelings, beliefs, and family narratives that have shaped your patterns. Through guided writing prompts, expressive art-making, and thoughtful conversation, you’ll start to see the threads behind your current habits.

🌀 We honor your story before we try to change the ending.

  • Here’s where we meet the protectors, the avoiders, the inner critics, and the spendy parts — and learn why they’re there. Using IFS-informed coaching and therapeutic inquiry, we get curious (not judgmental) about the parts of you that feel stuck, scared, or chaotic around money.

🌀 We don’t fight the blocks. We listen to them.

  • With deeper emotional clarity, we begin to gently co-create money rituals and tools that feel possible for your nervous system. This is not a one-size-fits-all budget. It’s a sustainable, emotionally-honoring way of tending to your financial life — your way.

🌀 Your financial care plan is built with your humanity in mind.

  • We revisit your early goals, reflect on your shifts (emotional and practical), and co-design a plan for staying grounded and resourced with your money. This includes financial practices, emotional supports, boundaries, and rituals that extend beyond our time together. We’ll set you up with a budgeting app (Monarch Money), and you’ll get support for it within the Club membership for ongoing maintenance ($59/month after the intensive). You’ll have a team of cheerleaders, guides and confidants in the Club. Bye-bye money shame!

🌀 This isn’t the end — it’s the start of a new kind of relationship with money.

By the end of our work together, you'll:

  • Unhook from your parents’ rules and your partner’s panic

  • Discover money strengths you didn’t know you had

  • Feel deeply in control of where your money is going

  • Set realistic, values-aligned goals

  • Build a sustainable financial self-care practice

  • Understand your money patterns without shame

  • And feel the genuine, lasting relief of no longer dragging around years of money dread

Your numbers might not change overnight — but your relationship to them can.

    And that changes everything.

What does money healing look like?

Rachel Duncan seated comfortably, leaning on elbow, relaxed smiling expression

You won’t magically change overnight (no one does) — but here’s the version of you who starts to show up by the end of our intensive:

  • Someone who rarely impulse shops (and recovers gracefully when they do)

  • Someone who opens their bank account regularly and calmly

  • Someone who makes financial decisions based on values, not fear

  • Someone who includes financial well-being in their self-care plan

  • Someone who trusts themselves to do right by their money

You don’t need a personality transplant.

You don’t need to become a budgeting robot.

You need real resolution — the kind that untangles old shame, quiets the chaos, and has nothing to do with math.

Your first step is to apply. No commitments.

I’ll be in touch within 3 business days about my availability, and excellent referrals if we’re not a fit. Ethics are important!

I keep my 1:1 coaching roster intentionally small — about 8 people at a time — so I can bring my full energy (and brain, and heart) to each client.

How to Get Started

I’m a deep diver, not a volume shop (hello, Scorpio energy!).

What the 1:1 intensive is not

To keep things clear and ethical, here's what’s not included in the Individual Money Healing Intensive:

  • This is not therapy. While I use therapeutic tools, this is a coaching relationship, not clinical.

  • This is not financial planning. I don’t manage assets or create investment plans.

  • This is not legal or tax advice. I can help you get organized, but not represent you legally or prepare taxes.

  • This is not for couples. I work with individuals only.

  • This is not a crisis support space. If you’re in acute distress, I recommend seeking therapeutic or emergency resources.

My work is designed to support a range of learning and processing styles. If you're neurodivergent or navigating systemic barriers, know that your experience is welcome here.

FAQ

  • Nope. While I bring therapeutic tools to our work together, this is a coaching relationship and is open to clients regardless of location. This is not a replacement for mental health treatment, but is a terrific add-on if you're already in therapy.

  • This offer is for individuals only. If you're looking for support as a couple, I can offer referrals.

  • We can reschedule as needed with 48 hours notice. Sessions are flexible within the 12-week container.

  • We will co-create your plan because there is no one-size-fits-all. I bring options, insights, safety, and structure. You bring your values, fears, and hopes. Together, we build something that fits you.

  • Not at all. We use tools that meet you where you are and I'll teach you any basics that you need. Creativity and curiosity are more important than spreadsheet skills.

  • Nope. All the work we do together is based on what you choose to share. You’ll be working from your own private documents and reflections, and I’ll never ask for account access or require you to show me balances. That said, sharing broad strokes information about your income, spending, debt and assets will help to craft your goals. This is a supportive space, not an interrogation. Your money story is yours to reveal at your own pace.

  • Not at all. The community is completely optional. It's a supportive space where I share bonus lessons and recordings to complement our 1:1 work. You’re invited to join, but it’s never required. Many clients find it a great way to continue their momentum and integrate the work after the Intensive ends.
